Come join our team!  MW&L is hiring for the position of GIS Programmer/Analyst.

Position opens June 27, 2024, and closes July 15, 2024 at 11:59 PM.

Annual Salary is $85,000 - $119,000.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The GIS Programmer/Analyst plays an important role at the utility by planning, designing, programming, implementing, documenting, and maintaining MW&L’s Geographic Information System (GIS) applications and computerized systems. Close work with other Engineering and Operations staff is essential. It is also important to train staff, to geo-enable them with the equipment and applications they need to do their jobs.

Accuracy, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field with specific GIS coursework and/or training.
  • Four years of progressively responsible experience in a GIS professional or closely related position.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education may qualify.

Special Requirements

  • Driver’s license valid in Oregon, with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced computer and technical skills to operate software including NISC iVUE modules, SCADA, OMS, GIS (ESRI), MS SQL, and Business Intelligence Software.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in utility or municipal engineering.
