MW&L is hiring for the position of Journeyman Lineman or Hot Apprentice (5th Step or above).

First review of applications is July 15, 2024.  The position is open until filled.

Hourly Rate:   Journeyman Lineman: $63.61;  Apprentice Lineworker Step 5: $50.89;  Step 6: $53.43; Step 7: $57.25

ABOUT THE POSITION

A Journeyman Lineman works as a member of a crew to construct, install, repair, troubleshoot and maintain an underground and overhead electrical transmission and distribution system.

Our ideal candidate will highly value safety, team collaboration and will be able to work efficiently and effectively in a variety of situations.  Our linemen perform a variety of work which may include O&M of substation equipment and apparatus, performing switching procedures, operating test equipment, and operating excavators and digger derricks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR LINEMAN

In order to be considered for the selection process, applicants must have the following:

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of an approved Journeyman Lineman apprenticeship.
  • Valid Oregon Class A CDL driver’s license with air brake.
  • Upon employment, qualified under IBEW Local 125 as Journeyman Lineman.
  • CPR and First Aid cards; ODOT Traffic Flagger card; proficiency at pole top and vault rescue.
  • Live within 30 minutes of McMinnville Water & Light.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check, and have an acceptable driving history verified through DMV.
