About McMinnville Water and Light
McMinnville Water and Light (MW&L) was founded in 1889 and is one of the oldest municipal utilities in Oregon. MW&L provides water and electric service to residential and business customers in McMinnville.
McMinnville Water and Light is a department of the City of McMinnville; however, it’s operated and governed separately by an independent board (MW&L Commission) which is appointed by the mayor and approved by the city council. The city charter gives control to the commission to set policies and rates for the City’s water and electric utilities and to maintain utility finances separate from the city.
